BEit enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-fourth Ycarofthe Rcpuhlic of mdia as follows: 1 ( I) This Act may be ca lled the Infant Milk Substitutes , Feeding Bottles and Infan t Food s (Regulation of Produc tion , Supply and Distri bution) Amendment Act , 2003_
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Certtral Government may, by noti fication in the Offi cial Gazcuc. appoint.

the princi pal Aet ),- (I) for clause (a), the following cl ause shall he substituted , nam c1 y:- '(a ) "adver tisemen t" includes an y nonce. ci rc ular. label. wrapper or an y othe r doc ument or visible rep rese ntation or announcement mad e by me ans o f any ligh t, sound , smoke or gas or by means of electronic transmission or hy audio or visual transmission ;' , ( ii) in clause (d), for the wo rds "but doc" not inclu de a pharmacy or dru g sto re", the words "a pharmacy, drug "tore and any association of health workers" sha ll be substituted ;
(iii) in clause (j), for the words "after the age of four months", the words "after the age of six months and up to the age of two years" shall be subst ituted ;
(ill) in clause (8), for the words ", whether o r not it is suitable for such replacement" , the words " for in fant up to the agc nf two years" shall he substituted;
(v) after clause (i), the follow ing clause shall be inserted, namcly.c-- '(j ) "promotion" means to employ di rectly or indi rectly any method of e ncouraging any person to purchas e or usc infant mil k sub sti tute, feeding boule or infant food.' . ..
3. In section :\ of the principal Act ,- (I) in clause (a l, for the words " or feedin g bottles", the words ", feeding bettles or infant foods" shall be substi tuted;
( ii) in clause (b), for the wor ds "in fant rnilk substitutes IS", the wor ds "infant milk substitutes and infant foods arc" shall be substituted;
(iii) for cl ause (c), the foll owi ng claus e shJII he su bstitu ted. name1y:- "(c ) take part in the prom otion of infant milk subst itutes, feed ing bottl es or inteant foods." .
,4. In section 4 of the principal Act, for the words "feeding boulcs". ;Itboth the places where they occur, the words "feeding honk s or infant food s" shall be substi tuted.
5, In sec tion 5 o f the principal Aet, for the wor ds "feeding bottles". at both the places where thcy occur, the words "reed ing bottles or infant food s" shall be substituted.
6, In sec tion 6 of the principal Act, in sub-section (2), for the words " infant milk substitute", at both the place s where they occur, the words "i nfan t milk substitute or infant food" shall be substi tuted .
7. In section 7 of the principal Act,
(a) in sub-sectio... (1 ),- (ll for the words "Every ed uca tional or o the r material", the words "Every ed ucational or other material includ ing advertisements or ma terial relat ing to promotion of in fant milk substitutes , feeding boules and infant foods" shall be substitu ted;
(ii) after clause (j), the follow ing clause sha ll be inserted, namcly: "(fa) the dat e o f printing and publication o f such material and the name of the pr inter and pub lisher;";
(h ) in sub-section (2), for the won\<.; "feeding bottles" , the words "feeding boulcs or in fant foods" shall be substitute d .
