Section 2: Definitions

Information Technology (Use of Electronic Records and Digital Signature) Rules, 2004Central Rules · 2000

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires:-

1. "Act" means the Information Technology Act, 2000 (21 of 2000);

2. "electronic record" means data, record or data generated, image or sound stored, received or sent in an electronic form or micro film or computer generated micro fiche;

3. words and expressions used herein and not defined but defined in the Act shall have the meaning respectively assigned to them in the Act.
