Section 5: Temporary Protection Order.

The Jammu and Kashmir Heritage Conservation and Preservation Act, 2010Union territory Act of Jammu and Kashmir · Act 15 of 2010

If the authority considers that a property has, or may have, heritage value or environmental significance, or scenic beauty and is likely to be altered for any reason, whatsoever, it may by order prohibit the owner or lessee, from making any alteration of the property for a period of one hundred and twenty days subject to such conditions or requirement as the authority may consider appropriate :

Provided that within the said period, the Government may declare such property as a heritage or heritage site, as the case may be, in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
