Section 15: Resignation of a member of municipality.

The Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Act, 2000Union territory Act of Jammu and Kashmir · Act 20 of 2000

(1) A member of a municipality may resign by tendering his resignation in writing to the President who shall place the same before the municipality for its acceptance, unless withdrawn within fifteen days from the date of tendering the resignation.

(2) On the acceptance of the resignation under sub-section (1) the seat of the member shall be deemed to have become vacant and the same shall be filled up under section 19 of this Act.
