Section 166: Scavenging etc.

The Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Act, 2000Union territory Act of Jammu and Kashmir · Act 20 of 2000

(1) No person shall carry night soil in any receptacle on his head.

(2) No person who is not more than eighteen years of age shall be engaged by any person to take up house scavenging or sweeping.

(3) Whoever contravenes the provisions of this section shall be punishable with a fine which shall not be less than one hundred rupees and more than one thousand rupees.
