Section 243: Erection of building.

The Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Corporation Act, 2000Union territory Act of Jammu and Kashmir · Act 21 of 2000

(1)Every person who intends to erect a building shall apply for sanction by giving notice in writing of his intention to the Commissioner in such form and containing such information as may be prescribed by bye-laws made in this behalf.

(2) Every such notice shall be accompanied by such documents and plans alongwith specification as may be prescribed :

Provided that every such plan and specifications shall be duly signed by a qualified structural engineer who shall be registered with the municipality for the purpose.

Explanation:–– For the purposes of this sub-section the expression “a qualified structural engineer” means a graduate (civil) engineer.
