Section 2: Definitions.

The Jammu and Kashmir Prevention and Suppression of Sabotages Act, 1965.Union territory Act of Jammu and Kashmir · Act 22 of 1965

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, ––

(a) “Sabotage” means wilfully doing of an act by using an explosive or an incendiary substance which causes or is likely to cause death or bodily injury or damage to or destruction of a building, vehicle, machinery, road, bridge, culvert, causeway, an aerodrome or any other property ;

(b) “Court” means the Court of the Sessions Judge specially appointed or [empowered by the Government in consultation with the High Court] by a notification in the [Official Gazette] for the trial of offences under this Act :

Provided that no person shall be so appointed or empowered unless he is qualified for the appointment as a judge of the High Court under [article 217 of the Constitution of India] ;

(c) “Code” means the [Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974)] ;

[(d) “Government” means the Government of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.]
