Section 12: Health and Safety of Workers

The Jammu and Kashmir Shops and Establishments (Licensing, Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2025Union territory Act of Jammu and Kashmir · Act 6 of 2025

(1) Every employer shall take such measures relating to the health and safety (including cleanliness, lighting, ventilation and prevention of fire) of the workers as may be prescribed.

(2) Every employer shall be responsible for providing constant and adequate supervision of the workers employed in the shop or establishment and to ensure the compliance with the rules relating to health and safety made under sub-section (1) and for taking steps necessary to prevent accidents.
