Section 15: White-washing and colour washing of latrines and urinals

The walls, ceilings and partitions of every latrine and urinal shall be white-washed or colour-washed and the same shall be repeated at least once in every period of four months.

(2) Nothing in sub-rule (1) shall apply in respect of walls and ceilings of, and partitions in a latrine or urinal or any portions of such walls, ceilings and partitions which are laid in glazed tiles or otherwise finished to prove a smooth-polished impervious surface but such walls, ceiling partitions or portions thereof shall be washed with suitable detergents and disinfectants at least once in every period of four months.

(3) The dates on which the white-washing or colour washing is carried out under sub-rule (1), as the case may be, or washing with detergents and disinfectants is carried out under sub-rule (2) shall be entered by the employer in the register maintained in Form III.
