(1) In these rules. unless the context otherwise requires -
(a) “Act™ means the Jharkhand Lift and Escalators Act, 2017 (Act No.
18 of 2017).
(b) “Agent” means a person authorised by the owner for the purposes of these rules;
(c) “Form” means a form appended to these rules:
(d) “Lift” means Lift and Escalators as defined in the Act:
(e) “Urban Local Body” means the corporation, Municipality or Town Panchayat;
(f) “Licensed electrical Contractor” means the contractor who js registered by the Electrical Licensing Board, Jharkhand Government.
for carrying out electrical works.
(2) All other words and expression used in these rules but not defined shal] have the same meaning as assigned to them in the Act.
