Section 117: Determination of passengers carrying capacity of public service vehicle

The Jharkhand Motor Vehicles Rules, 2001State Rules of Jharkhand · 1988

- Notwithstanding anything contained in the Rules, no public service vehicle other than a motor cab shall be licensed to carry a number of passengers in excess of that number obtained by subtracting 90 kilograms from the difference in kilogram between the gross vehicle weight and unladen weight of the vehicle and dividing the resulting figure-

(i) by 60, in the case of double decked vehicles and single decked vehicles operated exclusively within the municipal and cantonment areas; and

(ii) by 70, in the case of other single decked vehicles.
