Section 253: Refund of fees

(1) If the State Transport Commissioner, the Regional Transport Officer, The Assistant Regional Transport Officer, as the case may be, is satisfied that the amount paid is in excess or that it is paid erroneously, towards fees under these rules or that it is required to be refunded under the provisions of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, he shall issue to the person entitled to the refund of such amount a certificate in Form R.F.

(2) Any person to whom a certificate in Form R.F. has been issued under sub- Rule (1) shall, on presentation of the certificate at the local Government Treasury, the State Bank of India or any other bank conducting the cash business of the State Government, within 90 days from the date of its issue or from the date of signification of The Jharkhand Motor Vehicles Rules, 2001 124 any subsequent renewal of the certificate by the issuing authority, be entitled to receive the refund of the amount mentioned therein.

(3) The authority mentioned in sub-rule (1) shall maintain a register of refund the fees and every amount for which a certificate in Form R.F. has been issued, shall be entered in such register.
