Section 17: Authority for compounding and the amount

(a) All officers enumerated in sub-section (1) of Section 22 shall be competent to compound the offence under the ordinance and the Rules.

(2) The amount payable for compounding of offence shall be fifty percent of the maximum amount of fine, prescribed for such offence under Section 28.
