Any workmen if not less than 19 years of age and with a service, whether continuous or not of not less than one year in the industrial establishment may, if nominated as provided in these rules, be a candidate for election as a representatives of the workmen on the committee.
Provided that the service qualification shall not apply to the first election in an industrial establishment which has been in existence for less than a year.
Explanation.— (1) In an industrial establishment which works in a season. service of a workman for two consecutive seasons shall be deemed to be one year's service under this rule.
(3)A workman shall be deemed to have completed a period of one year’s continuous service in an industrial establishment notwithstanding any interruption et service during that year brought about due to sickness, accident or authorised leave or a lockout or strike which is not illegal or irregular, or by intermittent periods at involuntary unemployment.
