Section 71: Summoning of witnesses, etc

No. 2/FA-10-7/2001- 2868State Rules of Jharkhand · 1947

(1) The provision of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Act V of 1908), relating to the summoning, attendance, examination of witness and penalties to be imposed upon witnesses, shall apply to persons required to give evidence or to produce documents before the Commissioner under these rules.

(2) Every person who is summoned and appears as a witness before the Commissioner shall be entitled to payment by the Labour Court out of the sum deposited under rule 66 of an allowance for expenses incurred by him in accordance with the scale for the time being in force for payment of such allowance to witnesses appearing in the Civil Courts.
