Section 2: Definitions

(1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires. – a) “Act” means the Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961 (27 of 1961);

b) “Form” means a Form appended to these rules;

c) “Inspector” means an officer appointed under Section 1 of the Act and includes a Chief Inspector;

d) “Schedule” means a Scheduled annexed to these rules;

e) “Section” means a section of the Act;

f) “Undertaking” means a Motor Transport Undertaking;

“State Government” means the State Government of Bihar.

(2) All other words and expressions used but not defined in these rules and defined in the Act shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act.
