Section 14: Power to make rules

The State Commission for the Scheduled Castes Act, 2018State Act of Jharkhand · Act 19 of 2018

(1) The State Government may after previous publication by notification in the official Gazette make rules for the purposes of carrying out the provisions of this Act.

(2) In particular, and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing provisions such rules may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:-

(a) salary and allowances payable to, and other terms and conditions for service of the Chairman/Vice Chairman and allowances payable to Members under sub-section (5) of section 4;

(b) the form in which the annual statement of accounts shall be prepared under sub-section(2) of section 12;

(c) any other matter which is required to be or may be prescribed.

(3) Every rule made under this Act shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before State Legislative Assembly while it is in session, for a total period of forteen days, which may be comprised in one session or in two or more successive sessions. If before the expiry of the session in which it is so laid or the session immediately following the aforesaid House agree in making any modification in the rule or House agree that the rule should not be made, the rule shall thereafter have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be, however, any such modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that rule.
