Judges Inquiry Rules 1969Central Rules · 1968

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,—

(a) "Act" means the Judges (Inquiry) Act, 1968 (51 of 1968);

(b) "Constitution" means the Constitution of India;

(c) "Form" means the form specified In the Schedule;

(d) "Inquiry Committee" means the Committee constituted under sub­ section (2) of section 3;

(e) "motion" means the motion admitted under sub-section (1) of section 3;

(f) "section" means a section of the Act;

(g) words and expressions not defined herein but defined in the Act have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act.

(617) 6 i 8 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART U— j . Presiding Officer.—The member chosen under clause (a) cf sub-section (2) of section 3 shall preside over the meetings of the Inquiry Committee, or, in his absence, the member chosen under clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 3 shall preside over the meetings of the Inquiry Committee.

4 Quorum.—(1) Two members of the Inquiry Committee present at a meeting of the Inquiry Committee shall be the quorum for such meeting.

(2) No metting of the Inquiry Committee shall be held unless a quorum is present-
