(1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, -
(a) “Appointing Authority” means the State Government for appointment of veterinary officers under these rules;
(b) “Kalyana-Karnataka Region Local cadres” means the Local cadre constituted under the Karnataka Public Employment (Reservation in Appointment for Kalyana-Karnataka Region) Order, 2013 in the cadre of Veterinary Officers to be filled by the direct recruitment;
(c) "Qualifying Examination" means the minimum qualification for recruitment to the posts of Veterinary officers as specified in the schedule; and
(d) "Schedule" means a Schedule appended to these rules;
(e) "Selection Committee" means the State Level Selection Committee Constituted under rule 3;
(f) "Vacancies" means the number of vacant posts to be filled up under these rules.
(2) Words and expressions used but not defined in these rules, shall have the same meaning assigned to them in the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977.
