Section 5: Provisions regarding fire fighting operations in neighboring areas

(1) Whenever a fire call is received from any place beyond the limits of any area in which the Act is in force, the officer-in-charge of that Fire Station, if he is satisfied that it is reasonably possible for the fire units to reach the scene of fire in sufficient time to be able to fight it, shall proceed to the scene of fire with necessary members of the Force and with necessary fire fighting appliances

(2) Fee payable under sub-section (1) of section 17 shall be at the rate of rupees fifteen per hour or part thereof for the service rendered by the members of the force subject to a maximum of, rupees one hundred and fifty per day of twenty-four hours plus charges at the rate of seventy five paise per kilometer per Motor vehicle or other means of transport used in connection with fire fighting
