Section 61: Power to alter fines fixed under that Act

The State Government may, by notification, direct that, in lieu of the fines fixed under section 12 of the Cattle Trespass Act, 1871, there shall be levied for each head of cattle impounded under section 60 of this Act such fines as it deems fit, but not exceeding the following, that is to say:— For each elephant ... Twenty rupees For each buffalo or camel ... Four rupees For each horse, mare, gelding, pony, colt, filly, mule, bull, cow, bullock or heifer. ... Two rupees For each calf, ass, pig, ram, ewe, sheep, lamb, goat or kid ... One rupee
