Section 77: Power to try offences summarily

The Karnataka Forest Act, 1963State Act of Karnataka · Act 5 of 1964

The District Magistrate or any magistrate of the first class specially empowered in this behalf by the State Government may try summarily under the 1[Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974)]1, any forest offence punishable with Forest [1964: KAR. ACT 5 396 imprisonment, which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both.
