Section 3A: Qualifications, terms and conditions for appointment of Commandant

The Karnataka Home Guards (Amendments) Rules, 2013.State Rules of Karnataka · 1962

The qualifications and terms and conditions for appointment of a Commandant are as specified below :-

(1) He shall be holder of a degree;

(2) He shall not be a member of or be associated with any political party or any organization which takes part in politics and he shall not take part in, subscribe in aid of or assist in any manner any political movement or activity ;

(3) He shall not have been convicted for any offence or indicted by any Court or Commission of enquiry ;

(4) He shall not be more than fifty years of age on the last date fixed for submission of application to the Deputy Commissioner of the District concerned ;

(5) He shall be residing within the redius of 20 Kms. of the District Headquarters concerned ;

(6) He shall be certified by the District Surgeon to be physically and medically fit ;

(7) The services and the minimum period of service, the certificate, Gallantry award in the same order of preference , shall be as specified below :-

(i) Military service – Five years satisfactory service

(ii) Para Military Service – Five years satisfactory service

(iii) Police Service – Five years satisfactory service

(iv) Recipitent of Gallantry award ;

(v) NCC `c' Certificate holder''
