Section 2: Amendment of section 63

The Karnataka Land Reforms (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020State Ordinance of Karnataka · No. 10 of 1962

In the Karnataka Land Reforms Act, 1961 (Karnataka Act 10 of 1962) (hereinafter referred to Principal Act), in section 63,-

(i) for sub-section (2), the following shall be substituted, namely:- "(2) The ceiling area for a person who is not a member of a family or who has no family or for a family shall be twenty units:

Provided that, in the case of a family consisting of more than five members the ceiling area shall be twenty units plus an additional extent of four units for every member in excess of ten, so however that the ceiling area shall not exceed forty units in the aggregate."

(ii) for sub-section (2A), the following shall be substituted, namely,- "(2A) The ceiling area for a person who is tenant under clause (b) of subsection (2) of section 5 shall be eighty units."
