Section 16: Presents prohibited

The Karnataka Marriages (Registration and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1976.State Act of Karnataka · Act 2 of 1984

(1) No person other than a party or parents of a party to a marriage shall give any present to a party or to the parents of a party to a marriage or to the person celebrating the marriage at the time of marriage or any other functon or ceremony connected with the marriage of such party.

(2) No party to a marriage or the parents of a party to a marriage or a person celebrating a marriage shall accept any presents prohibited by sub-section (1).
