Section 16: Special Star Grade

An inmate in the Star Grade may be promoted to the Special Star Grade if the Superintendent is satisfied after close observation of the inmate’s general demeanour and efficiency, that he may be safely placed in a position of special trust, An inmate promoted to the Special Star Grade may be placed in authority over other inmates on parades in workshop, play group’s or in other situations, where he can assist the administration in various capacities. Such inmates may also act as monitors in different capacities. Inmates in the special Star Grade shall wear a distinctive dress.
