Section 27: Penalty for unlawful assumption of title of registered nurse, midwife, auxiliary nurse-midwife, or health visitor

Any person who, not being a registered nurse, midwife, auxiliary nurse-midwife, or health visitor, takes or uses the name or title of registered nurse, midwife, auxiliary nurse-midwife or health visitor or uses any name, title, description, prescribed uniform, object or sign-board, with the intention that it may be believed, or with the knowledge that it is likely to be believed that such person is a 13 registered nurse, midwife, auxiliary nurse-midwife or health visitor shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees for the first offence and for any subsequent offence with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees or with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with both.
