In section 138 of the principal Act, in sub-section (2), in clause (b), the following shall be inserted at the end, namely:- “But the number of offices of Adhyaksha and Upadhyaksha reserved for the Backward Classes under this clause shall be so determined that the total number of offices of Adhyaksha and Upadhyaksha reserved for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes under clause (a) and the Backward Classes under this clause shall not exceed fifty per cent of the total number of offices of Adhyaksha and Upadhyaksha of the Taluk Panchayaths in the State.”
