Building, Bangalore, dated:15.10.2025 NOTIFICATION Whereas the draft of the following rules which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (i) of sub-section(1) of section 7 and section 145 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1995) is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of section 145 of the said Act, for the information of all the persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft amendments was Published as in Notification No. EP 244 SLB 2025, dated:24.07.2025 in part of IVA of the Karnataka Gazette dated:24.07.2025 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby within fifteen days from the date of its publications in the Official Gazette.
And whereas the said Gazette was made available to public on 24.07.2025 and whereas no objections and suggestions have been received by the Government.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (i) of sub-section(1) of section 7 and section 145 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1995) the Government of Karnataka hereby make the following rules, namely:- RULES
1. Title, commencement and applicability:- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Pre-University Examination (Scheme of Evaluation) Rules, 2025.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.
(3) These rules shall apply to all II PUC students appearing for the Board Examination from the academic year 2025-26 and onwards.
2. Minimum Pass Percentage:- The Minimum pass percentage shall be governed as follows, namely:-
(a) A candidate shall be declared to have passed the PUC examination if the candidate secures not less than 30% of the total marks in each subject, including marks obtained in the written examination and internal assessment or practical examination and not less than 33% of the aggregate marks across all subjects taken together.
(b) In subjects with no practical examination or internal assessment in order to be declared as having passed the written examination of 80 marks a candidate shall be required to secures a minimum of 24 marks in each such subject:
Provided that, this minimum marks may be relaxed or modified, under exceptional circumstances and subject to such conditions as may be specified by the State Government.
(c) In subjects with a practical examination or internal assessment, in order to be declared as having passed the written examination of 70 marks, a candidate shall secures a minimum of 21 marks in each such subject:
Provided that, this minimum marks may be relaxed or modified requirement may, under exceptional circumstances and subject to such conditions as may be specified by the State Government
3. General conditions for practical examinations:- The general conditions in respect of subjects with a practical component, in deviation from the existing allotment of 30 marks for the practical examination, the practical exam shall be conducted for a maximum of 20 marks and the remaining 10 marks shall be awarded to a candidate who fulfils the following conditions namely:
(a) the candidate has secured a minimum of 75% attendance in each subject (including theory and practical classes), thereby becoming eligible to appear for the practical exam;
(b) the candidate has conducted the minimum number of practicals specified for each practical subject, 3
(c) the candidate has duly recorded and submitted the same in the practical record book duly certified by the concerned subject lecturer; and
(d) the candidate has appeared for the practical examination.

1. ๏ೕბಃ, ඩ ฏಭ ಮൡ౨ ಅನ౷ เಃ:- (1) ಈ ඛಯಮಗಳඝ౬ ಕකბಟಕ ಪದเ තವბ ಪคೕಃ౹ (ಲ ಪನ เඋನ) ඛಯಮಗำ, 2025 ಎಂൿ ಕฉಯತಕౙ ൿ౪ .

(3) ಈ ඛಯಮಗำ 2025-26ඡ ๖ౘಕ ವಷბൽಂದ ಮൡ౨ ඦತರದ ๖ౘಕ ವಷბൽಂದ ಡัಯ ಪคೕಃ౹ ಡ ಜฃಞವ ಎม ൽ౷ ൟೕಯ ඪ.. เർ ൮ბಗัಡ ಅನ౷ ತ౨ ๅ.
