Section 1: Short title, extent and Commencement

The Karnataka Preservation of Trees Act, 1976State Act of Karnataka · Act 76 of 1976

(1) This Act may be called the Karnataka Preservation of Trees Act, 1976.

(2) It extends to the whole of the State of Karnataka.

(3) This section shall be deemed to have come into force on the seventeenth day of July 1976 and other provisions shall come into force on such 1[date]1 as the State Government may by notification appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act and for different urban areas or rural areas or parts thereof.
