(1) The Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug-offenders, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Slum grabbers Ordinance, 1984 (Karnataka Ordinance 16 of 1984) is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act.

Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Boot-Leggers, Drug-offenders, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Slum-grabbers Act, 1985 (Karnataka Act 12 of 1985) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the Sixtieth year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Boot-Leggers, Drug-offenders, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Slum-Grabbers (Amendment) Act, 2009.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
