Section 64: Penalty for illegal import, etc., of molasses

Whoever, in contravention of the provisions of section 43 or of any rule or order made or of any licence or permit granted under this Act, exports, imports, transports, sells or has in his possession molasses shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees or with both:

Provided that no manufacturer of jaggery from sugarcane shall be liable for possession of molasses which is a by-product of the process and is not in excess of such quantity as may be prescribed.
