HIGHER EDUCATION SECRETARIAT NOTIFICATION No.ED 26 TEC 2015, BENGALURU, DATED : 04-09-2018.
In exercise of powers conferred by section 14 of the Karnataka Education Institutions (prohibition of Capitation Fee) Act, 1984, (Karnataka Act 37 of 1984), the government of Karnataka proposes to make the following rules further to amend the Karnataka selection of candidates for admission to Government seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006, namely:- RULES
1. Title and Commencement :- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka selection of candidates for Admission to Government seats in Professional Educational Institutions (Amendment) Rules, 2018
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Amendment of rule 9 :- In the Karnataka selection of candidates for admission to Government seats in professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006, in rule 9 in sub rule (1), in clause (A):-
(1) in item (i), after the words “from Karnataka” the words “or who have scaled Mount Everest as part of Directorate of General NCC Team”, shall be inserted.
(2) in item (ii), in sub-item (e), after the words “Foreign Naval Cruise” the words, letters, brackets and figure “National Shooting Championship Competition (NSCC) or any other All India Shooting Competition organized by DG NCC), NCC National Games as part of Karnataka and Goa Directorate contingent or having been selected by DG NCC to participate in any Naval Cruise on-board India Naval ships or Coast Guard Ships or having scaled the Mountaineering peaks (above 5500 meters) other than Mount Everest, as part of Directorate of General NCC Team”. Shall be inserted.
(3) in item (iii), in sub-item (e), after the brackets, words and figures “(more than 1500 kms)”, the words, brackets and letters “launch Camp for Republic Day Camp (RDC), Thal Sainik Camp (TSC), Nau Sainik Camp (NSC) or Vayu Sainik Camp (VSC) held at the DTE level or having participated in any of the under mentioned Centrally Organised Camp of DG NCC.” Shall be inserted.
(4) in item (iv), after sub-item (g), and the entries relating thereto the following shall be inserted, namely:- “(h) IMA/OTA, AF Stn, Naval Academy, Indian Naval or Coast Guard ship or
(i) Any other attachment camp based on vacancies issued by DG, NCC.
(j) Mountaineering, Para Basic, SSB Screening or any other DG NCC organised course and adventure camps.”
(5) in item (v), for first proviso, the following shall be substituted, namely:- “ Provided that, for selection of reserved seat under NCC category, candidates shall be considered in the following order of preference,-
(i) Candidate possessing NCC ‘B’ certificate and adjudged All India Best Cadet with Gold or Silver or Bronze Medal in Republic Day Camp held at New Delhi or having scaled Mount Everest as part of DG NCC Team.
(ii) Candidate possessing NCC ‘B’ Certificate and having been selected for Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) organized by DG NCC or having obtained Gold or Silver or Bronze Medal in the team events in Republic Day Camp held at New Delhi (added YEP).
(iii) Candidate possessing NCC ‘B’ Certificate and having participated in the Republic Day Camp held at New Delhi as part of the Karnataka and Goa contingent.
(iv) Candidate possessing NCC ‘B’ Certificate and having been awarded individual medal for All India ‘Best Cadet’ with Gold or Silver or Bronze Medal in All India Nau Sainik Camp, All India Vayu Sainik Camp, All India Thal Sainik Camp (Boys or Girls). All India Shooting Camps (GV Mavalankar, National Shooting Championship Competition organized by DG NCC), NCC National Games as part of Karnataka and Goa Directorate contingent or having been selected by DG NCC to Participate in any Naval Cruise on-board India Naval Ships or Coast Guard Ships or having scaled the Mountaineering peaks (above 5500 meters) other than Mount Everest, as part of DG NCC Team.
(v) Candidate possessing NCC “B” Certificate and having obtained Gold or Silver or Bronze Medal in any Team events in the Camp mentioned in Preference (iv) above or in sailing Regatta organised by DG NCC or having sailed for more than 401 kms (By using wind power only) as part of the DTE team.
(vi) Candidate possessing NCC “B” Certificate and having attended All India Thal Sainik Camp (Boys or Girls), All India Nau Sainik Camp, All India Vayu Sainik Camp, All India Shooting Camps (GV Mavlankar, NSCC or any other All India Shooting Camp organized by DG NCC), NCC national games as part of Karnataka and Goa Directorate contingent or in sailing Regatta organized by DG NCC.
(vii) Candidate possessing NCC “B” Certificate and having participated in any Adventure Activity like cycling expedition (more than 1500 kms).
Motor cycle Expedition (more than 3500 kms) or any other adventure activity planned and organized at the DTE level or cadets who participated in the launch Camp for Republic Day camp (RDC), Thal Sainik Camp (TSC), Nau Sainik Camp (NSC) or Vayu Sainik Camp (VSC) held at the DTE level or having participated in any of the under mentioned Centrally Organized Camp of DG NCC.
National Integration Camp (NIC)/Special NIC.
All India Trekking Camp.
Advance Leadership Camp (ALC) Rock Climbing Training Camp (RCTC) Arm or Navy or Air Force Attachment Camps including Hospital, IMA/OTA, AF Stn, Naval Academy, Indian Nava/ Coast Guard ship or any other attachment camp based on vacancies issued by Directorate General of NCC organized course and adventure camps.
