Section 28: Offences and penalties

The Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960.State Act of Karnataka · Act 17 of 1960

If,—

(a) the president, chairman, principal secretary or any member of the governing body or any officer of a society contravenes the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 9, or sub-section (2) of section 10, or sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 11, section 12 or section 13;

(b) the president, chairman, principal secretary or an officer or member of the governing body of society wilfully makes or furnishes a false return or makes or furnishes a return or statement which he does not believe to be true; or

(c) any person wilfully or without any reasonable excuse disobeys any summons, requisition or lawfully written order issued under the provisions of this Act or does not furnish any information lawfully required from him by a person authorised in this behalf under the provisions of this Act, -such president, chairman, principal secretary, member or person shall, on conviction, be punishable with fine which may extend to 1[one thousand rupees.]1
