During the temporary absence of the Vice Chancellor by reason of leave, illness or vacancy in the office of the Vice Chancellor remaining unfilled, the Chancellor in consultation with the State Government may designate the senior-most Professor of the University as the Vice Chancellor in-charge of the University, until permanent arrangements are made.
