Section 25: The Chancellor

The University of Horticultural Sciences Ordinance, 2009.State Ordinance of Karnataka · No. 11 of 2010

(1) The Governor of the State of Karnataka shall by virtue of his office be the Chancellor of the University.

(2) The Chancellor shall be the Head of the University and shall when present, preside at the convocation of the University.

(3) Every proposal to confer an honorary degree shall be subject to the confirmation of the Chancellor, with the approval of the Board of Management.

(4) The Chancellor may by an order in writing annul any order or proceeding of the officer or authority of the University which is not in conformity with this Ordinance and Statutes:

Provided that before making any such order he shall call upon the officer or authority concerned to show cause why such an order should not be made and if any cause is shown within the time specified in this behalf, he shall consider the same.

(5) The Chancellor shall exercise such other powers and discharge such other duties as are conferred or imposed on him by this Ordinance or the Statutes.
