Section 22: Repeal and savings

The Kerala Civil Courts Act, 1957State Act of Kerala · Act 1 of 1957

(1) The Madras Civil Courts Act, 1873 (Madras Act III of 1873), as in force in the Malabar district referred to in sub-section (2) of section 5 of the State Reorganisation Act, 1956 (37 of 1956), and the Travancore-Cochin Civil Courts Act, 1951 (XXII of 1951), are hereby repealed.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), all courts constituted, appointments made, limits fixed and jurisdiction and powers conferred under any Act hereby repealed shall, so far as may be consistent with this Act, be deemed to have been constituted, made, fixed and conferred under this Act.
