(1) Where a cultivating tenant does not apply for the purchase of the right, title and interest vested in the Government 43 under section 66, the tenant holding directly under the religious, chari­ table or educational mst1tut1on of a public nature shall contmue as tenant under the Government.

(2) The rent payable by such tenant to the Government shall, on default, be recoverable as an arrear of land revenue under the Revenue Recovery Act for the t1me being m force.
