Provided that the controller, Legal Metrology shall issue instructions, directions or orders on use of specific.-.'type of Weight or Miadure in any tradc from time to time. turer,;repairer' and dealer of Weight or or rcpairer of, or dealer in, weight or mcasurc issue of a liccncc to thc Controller, I-egal may be authorised by him in this bchalf in the relbvant form set out in Schedule II-A: out in Schedule II-B.
(3) Every licenee issued to a manufacturer, repairer or dealer shall be in the rclevant form set out in Schedule III' be ra bc thc Schedule IV.

(3) Evrlry person, whose liccnce has been suspended shall, immcdiately aftgr such suspcnsion, s-top functioning as such licencce and shall not rcsume business as such lice*co until thc order of such suspgnsion has bccn, or . stands, vacated. d
(4) Evory licencee whose licenee has been suspcnded or cancelled shall, after such suspe:nsion or cancellation, as the case may bq;"+urrender such licencc to the authority by which such licence was issued.
(5) Every licerrce issued undqr thc Act and thesc rulcs shall stand cancelled ab-initio with the demise of thc liccncee or Lhc dissolvcmcnt o[ thc partnership or the winding up of incorporation.
13. Recu'ds ta be maintained by mandacturers, etc.-Evory manufacturer or repaircr of, or dcaler in wcight or mcasure liccnced undcr the Act and these rules shall maintain records and registers in the relevant form set out iu r Schcdule VIIA. and also submit such periodical reporVreturns in thc relcvant forrn sct out in Schedule VII B.
14. Terification and inspection of weight or meqsure.-(\) Evcry pcrson using or intcncling to use any weight or measurc in any transaction or for' protection shall prescnt such weight or mcasurc for verification or re-verification, rts the'case may be, at the office of thc Legal Metrology Officcr or at such other placc as thc Legal Metrology Ofliccr may spccify in this bchalf on or before th,l datc of verification as specified in Legal Metrology (Gcncral) Rule 2011 :
Provided lhat whcre any wcight or measure is such that it cannot, or should not be moved frone its location, the person using such rveiglt or measurc shall report to the Legal Metrology Offrccr at least thirty days in advance of the datc, on which the verification falls duc.
(2) Whcre any weight oi measure is such that it cannot, or should not, be movod fron it's location, Legal Metroiogy Offrcer shall takc necessary stcps for thc verification of such weight or measure at the place of its location.
(3) For the verification of weight or mca$ue rcfened to in sub-rulc (2), the uscr shall providc such facilities as may'be specified by thc Controllcr.
(4) A us,l fee shall be chargcd ior vcrification and stamping of weight or measure refcrred to sub-rulc (2) at thc rate spccified in Schedulc IX and thc user shall also pruvide lead and twisted wire whercver required at the timc of presenting his \Veighi or Measure for verification.

(a) any weight or mcasurc which being duc for re-vcrification has not bc'en submittcd for such rc-vcrification ;

15. Stamping of weight or measure'-(l) Thc I-cgal Metrology Officer shall stanp cvcry woight oi,o"uJrrr", if, aftcr testing and verificatio-n, he is satisfied that such wcight or mcasulE conforrns to the standards established by or under the Act, with a stamp of uniform dcsign, issucd by the Controller, which strall indicate the numbcr allottcd for administrative purposc to the Legal Metrology offrccr by whom it is stampcd : Providcdthat if by rcason of the size or narure of any weight or lneasure it is not dcsirablc or impracticalle to put a stamp thereon, the Lcgal Metrology Offrcer shall taks such action as may be diiected by thc controllcr by a gencral or a special order in wnbng.

(3) On completion of verifrcation and staiiping, thc l-egal Mctrology Officer shall.issue a certificate of verification in thc form sct out in Schcdulc VIIL

(5) On receipt of an application under sub-rule (4), thc Lcgal Mclrology Officer shall issue to the applicant a driplicate copy of thc certificatc of verification mad<ed 'DUPLICATE'. ,
16. Fee J,ior verification.l l) Fees payable for vcrification and stamping of weight or measurc at the ofice or camp officb of the Lcgal Mctrology Ofhccr shali be as specificd in Schcdulc X. subjcct to a mirrimtrm of Rupces onc hundred
Provided that no additional fee shall be charged for vcrification and stamping of weights and measures in situ of,-- location :
9 . (ii) Wcight or mcasuro in thc premises of manufacturer or dcaler of such weight o! mcasure.
(3) lf a #eight or measure is pres rted to thd L€gal Metrology Officer for rc-vcrification allcr cxprry of the validity of the stamp, an additional fec at half thc rates spccifrcd in Schedulc fX shall bc payable for cvery quarter of the ycar or part thcreof. (-;
(a) Full fcc shall bc payablc for re-stamping any weight or measwe held in stock witli manufacturer or dcaler within thc period as specified, in the Legal Mcfrology (Gcncral) Rulcs, 2011. ir
(5) A wcight or mcasure which'on verification/inspection id{,found to bc incorrect, shall be rcjcctcd and rcturncd to thc person concerned for adjustrncnt informing him, in a pro forrna spccified by thc Controllcr, of thc defects found in thc wcight or mcasurc, and calling upon hin to rcmove thc dcfects within a pcriod not exceeding scvon days. When, thc necessary adjustmcnt has bcen carricd out, such wcight or mcasure shall be vcrificd on paymcnt of fifty pcr cent of the fec specificd in Schcdulc D! failing which full fcc shall bc chargcd and if found .qorrect shall bc stamped.
17. Collection of fee and deposit into the Treasury.-(1) Before commcncing thc work of vcrifrcation'or re-verification, the I.cgal Mctrology Officcr shall inform thc pcrson concerncd of the fees payabl.e by him and shall reccive thc samc in thc manngr as authorised by thc Controllcr and issue a rcccipt on thb form approvcd by thc Controllcr, and thc duplicate copy of such reccipt being kept on rccord:
Provided that fce payablc by a departmcnt of thc'Central or State Govcrnment under thcse rules may be realizcd in such manncr as may be directcd by thc Conhollcr.
(2) :lhe Lcgal Mctrology Officcr shall maintain a registcr, in the form as sct out in Schcdulc fX-B, which shall bc written up from day--to-day and shall show thc amount of fcc and othcr chargcs collected during the day.
(3) All paymcnt rcccived by thc Legal Mctrology Officer during the weck shall bc paid into thc Govgrnmcnt Treasury undcr the appropriate "Head of Account'? on such datcs or days as may be specified by the Controller from time to time, and a rcceipt thereof be obtained and an intimation to that effect be scnt to thc Controller or othcr ofEcer authorised by him in this behalf.
18. Disposal of seized weight, measure, etc.ll) Aay un-verifrcd weight or. measluc shail bc reh-rrned to thc person from whom such weight- or mcasure was scized if that pcrson gcts the-saure vcrified and stamped, within fiftcen days of the rcturn, on payment of the prescribcd fee including the additional fee payablc for undcrtaking rc-verification after the cxpiry of the validity of the stamp. (2) Any ,gcight or measure or document or. thing or goods seized and dctaincd unacr icctions 15 of the Abt, which is to bc thc occcdings in a Court shall be produced by the Legal Metrolbgy O thc court shall after conclusion of thc proccedings, bc taken poss thc lcgal metrology officcr and dealt with in accordance with the orders of thc Court:

(3) Whcre the goods seized undcr sub-scction (1) of Section 15 of thp Act are contained in a pickagc and ttrc package is faisc or does not conform to thc pr.ovisions of the Act oi any rulci made thereunder and the goods in such package are subject to speedy or natural decay, thc Lcgal Metrology Officcr so iu. ur-*uy be, may.disiose-of the goods iq such packagc in accordancc with thc provisions'of sub-ruie (3): providcd that the Controllcr shall be thc final authority to dccidc whcthcr the g<lods scizqd and detaincd are subject to spcedy or natural dccay'
(4) Where the goods seizcd undcr.sub-scction (l) of Section 15 of the Act ur" ooi subject to spcedy or natural decaS the Legal Mctrology Offrcer may retain the packagc for thq purpose of prosecution undor this Act after giving the trader or hiS ag"nt or the other pcrson (who has committed thc offence) a notice of such seizurc.

19. Validity of Wcights or Mcasures duly stampbd.-(1) A weight or measure which is, or is deemed to be, duly verified and stamped under this Rulc shall bc decmcd to conform to the Standards cstablishcd by or undcr thc Act at every place within the State in which it is stampcd unless it is found on insp""tion or verifrcation that s;rch weight or measure has ccased to conform to the standards established by or under the Act. . (2) No weight or measure which is, or is deemcd to be, duly vcrificd and stimped undcr ttrc Act shall requirc to bc re-stamped mcrely by reas.on-of thc fact ihat it is bcing used at any pface within the State othcr than the placc at which it was originally verified and stampedi' "
Provided that whcrc a vcrif,red wcight or measure, installcd at onc placc is dismantled and re-installed at a diffcrerit place, such weight or measure shall not be put into use unless it has been duly re'vcrified and stampcd, notwithstanding that periodical re-vcrification of such weight or melsurc has not becomc due. : n
(3) Where a verified weight or measure has ed. whether by a licenced repdi.er or by the per3on owning an/ the same, such weight or measure shaii not be put into use unle$ duly re-vcrilted and st4mped, nofwithstanding that periodical re-verification of such weight or measure has not become due.
20. Supply of Working/Secondary Stonaii:ar, equipment, etc., to the Legal Metrology Officer.-(l) Every Legal Metrology Officer shall be provided with Working/Secondary Standards weights, Working/Secondary Standard balances, and such other equipments which include weighing'and measuring devices as may be approved by the Controller from time to time. , (2) Every Legal Metrology Officer shall be provided with srich dies, punches, paper seaVsticker and such other equipment as may be necessary for affixing the verificatio4 stamp, the design and number of which are to be approved by the Controller.
(3) Every Legal Metrology Officer shall be provided with punches of suitable sizes of eight-pointed star as shown below for obliterating stamps.
21 . (Jniform for Assistant Controllers of Legal Metrqlogy, Senior Inspectors of Legal Me.trology and Inspectors of Legal Metrology.-The Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology, Senior Inspector of Legal Metrology and Inspector of Legal Metrology shall wear the following uniform while on dury either in.office or in the field:-
(a) Assistant Controllers of lrgal Metrology.{1) 'Khaki Forage Cap with a crest of the foilowing design made of silver metal and having an overall height of 38 mm to be wom in fhe centre of the Cap:
(2) Caveky pattern bush coats with'full sleeves of Khaki, terry cotton or polyester having rwo breast-pockets and fwo side pockets, the side pockets being inside, with cloth belt. T2
(3) T$rusers of Khaki, tetry--cotton or polyester'
(4) Brown shoes and Khaki coloured sodcs'
(5) A silyer departmental badge 'KLMS' not exceeding 35'mm in length and n 12,5 mm block letters on the basd?f each shoulder strap'
(6) Three stars made of white metal (silver plated) "Star of India Pattern" and 23 mm broad on each shoulder strap' (?) Whistle of Police pattern to be worn attached to a dark blue lanyard and carried in left breast pocket'
