Section 2: Definitions

The Kerala Legislative Assembly (Reimbursement of amount incurred for the Purchase of Books) Rules, 2013State Rules of Kerala · 1951

(1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,-

(a) 'Act' means' the payment of Salaries and Allowance Act, 1951 (Act XIV of 1951);

(b) 'Book' means any publication written, compiled or edited by one or more person, and published by an authorised publisher, intended for sale, duly affixing their name, address and the selling price on it including e-books;

(c) 'Form' means the form appended to these rules;

(d) 'Government' means the Government of Kerala;

(e)'Member' means every member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly who is entitled to reimbursement under section 8C of the Act;

(f)'Year' means a financial year starting with the first day of April of every year and ends with the 31st day of March of the succeeding year.

(2) the words and expressions used in the Act and not defined in the rules shall have the meaning assigned to them in the Act.
