The Lok Ayukta and the Upa-Lok Ayuktas shall have and exercise the same jurisdiction, power and authority in respect of contempt of itself, as the High Court has and may exercise and for this purpose the provisions of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 (Central Act 70 of 1971), shall have effect subject to the modification that the reference therein 19 made to the High Court shall be construed to be reference therein made to the Lok Ayukta and the Upa-Lok Ayuktas, as the case may be.
