The Regional Transport Officer may accept from any person who has committed, or is reasonably suspected of havmg committed, an offence under this Act or any rule made thereunder, by way of compositiOn ~ of such offence, a sum of money not exceeding two hundred and fifty rupees, which shall be m addition to the tax or other <>- dues, if any, payable by that person 1 19 Compensation to local authorities from the proceeds of tax collected.-From the proceeds of the tax collected under th1s Act every year, there shall be paid to each local authority such compensation as may be fixed by the Government In accordance with such principles as may be prescribed.
