Section 5: Tenants to be proprietors and tharissu to vest in Government

The Pattazhi Devaswom Lands (Vesting and Enfranchisement) Act, 1961State Act of Kerala · Act 21 of 1961

On and after the commencement of this Act,—

(i) every tenant shall, subject to the provisions of section 7, have full proprietary rights in the land comprised in his holding and such rights shall be heritable and alienable;

(ii) the tenants shall not be liable to pay rent to the Temple; and

(iii) all tharissu shall vest in the Government.
