Section 12: Compensation for animals destroyed

The Prevention and Control of Animal Diseases Act, 1967State Act of Kerala · Act 4 of 1967

Compensation shall be paid to the owner of an animal destroyed under section 11, and such compensation shall be determined in accordance with the rules to be made by the Government in this behalf:

Provided that no compensation shall be payable—

(i) to any person convicted of any offence punishable under this Act, committed in respect of such animal; or

(ii) in respect of any animal which, when it was brought into the State, was infected with disease on account of which it was destroyed.
