The prescribed authority may in consultation with the hotelkeeper, by notification in the Gazette or any publication prescribed in this behalf, fix in respect of each hotel the reasonable maximum rate and the service charges, if any, commensurate with the standard of the hotel and quality of food, accommodation and service, which may be charged by the hotel-keeper for board or lodge or for both from the persons staying therein or from other customers.
