The Gover .rr.ent shall pay to every Th1ruppuholder (other than a religious or charitable mstitution of a public nature established and maintained by a rebgious denominatiOn or any se<.tion thereof or a service• Thiruppuholder) whose nght to receive payment of Thiruppuvaram has been extinguished, compensatiOn at twelve times the amount ofThiruppuvaram payable annually to the Thiruppuholder.

(2) In comoutmg the compensation payable under sub-section( l), five percentum of the annual Thiruppuvaram shall be deducted there­ from for collection charges and the balance alone shall be multiplied by twelve to constitute the compensation:

Provided that no such deduction shall be made in cases where the lhbil1ty to pay Th1ruppuvaram was on the Government.

(3) The amount of compensation payable under this section shall be deemed to have accrued due from the date on which the compensatiOn IS determmed under sub->ectwn (I) of section II, and interest thereon shall be paya!)le at the rate of four percentum per annum from that da.te till the date ot payment of compensatiOn m case the amount of compensation 1s pa1d 111 ca~h, or t1ll the date of redemptwn of the bond~ if compensatiOn 1s pa1d m Government bonds.
