(1) The Registrar shall be a full time officer of the University and shall be appointed in such manner in accordance with the Statutes.
(2) The Registrar shall be responsible for the due custody of the common seal of the University.
(3) The Registrar shall be the ex-officio Secretary to the General council and the Executive Committee and the Academic Council and shall be responsible for the proper recording of their proceedings and for placing before such authorities all such matters as may be necessary for the transaction of their business.
(4) The Registrar shall receive applications for admission to the various courses of the University and shall keep permanent record of all courses, curricula and other information as may be deemed necessary by the Academic Council.
(5) The Registrar shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed or which 25 may be assigned by the Executive Committee or the Vice-Chancellor.
1[(6) The Registrar shall be appointed for a period of four years from the date on which he enters upon his office or till he completes the age of fifty-six years, whichever is earlier and he shall be entitled for the emoluments and other service conditions as may be prescribed.
(7) The person appointed as Registrar shall be eligible for reappointment for one more period subject to the provisions in sub-section (6).]
