(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes and in compliance with the principles of reservation in force, from time to time, admission to the University shall be open to persons of all gender and of whatever race, creed, caste or class and the University shall not enquire or insist on any person, whatsoever of religious belief or profession or political opinion in order to entitle him to be appointed as a teacher of the University or to hold any office therein or to be admitted as a student of the University, or to graduate there, or to enjoy or exercise any privilege thereof.
(2) The University shall be open to students of any nationality and they may be admitted in the manner, as may be prescribed.
(3) Nothing in this section shall be deemed to prevent the University from making any special provision for the appointment or admission of women or of persons belonging to Other Backward Classes of the society and persons belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
