And whereas, the said Tribunal was required to submit its report and decision under sub-section (2) of section 5 of the said Act on or before the 1st day of April, 2007;
And whereas, the said Tribunal had requested to extend the period of submission of report and decision for further periods from time to time;
And whereas, the Central Government vide notifications number S.O. 400(E), dated the 20th March, 2007, S.O 414 (E), dated the 3rd March, 2008, S.O. 2116 (E), dated the 27th August, 2008 had extended the period of submission of report and decision up to the 1st April, 2009;
And whereas, the Government of Karnataka approached the Hon’ble Supreme Court vide writ petition (Civil) No. 408/2008 to direct the Central Government to reckon the date of constitution of the Tribunal as February or March 2006;
And whereas, the Hon’ble Supreme Court heard the matter on the 17th December, 2008 and directed that effective date of the constitution of the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal under section 3 of the said Act would be the 1st February, 2006;
And whereas, the said Tribunal had again requested to extend the period of submission of its report and decision for a further period of one year with effect from the 1st February, 2009;
And whereas, after taking into consideration the Court order, the notification number S.O. 2116(E), dated the 27th August, 2008 and the proviso to sub-section (2) of section 5 of the said Act, the Central Government vide notification number. S.O. 543 (E), dated the 25th February, 2009, extended the period of submission of report and decision for a further period of one year with effect from the 1st February, 2009 up to the 31st January, 2010;
And whereas, the said Tribunal had again requested to extend the period of submission of report and decision for further periods from time to time;

2347(E), dated the 28th September, 2010 and S.O. 2847 (E) dated the 26th November, 2010 had extended the period of submission of report and decision up to the 31st December, 2010;
And whereas, the said Tribunal submitted its report and decision under sub-section (2) of section 5 of the said Act on the 30th December, 2010;
And whereas, the Central Government and the Party States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra have preferred their respective references, lastly by the State of Maharashtra and the Central Government, to the said Tribunal under sub-section (3) of section 5 of the said Act on the 29th March, 2011;
And whereas, the said Tribunal was required to forward to the Central Government a further report under subsection (3) of section 5 of the said Act on or before one year from the 29th March, 2011;
And whereas, on the request of the said Tribunal the period of submission of further report under the proviso to subsection (3) of section 5 of the said Act was extended up to the 30th September, 2012 vide notification number S.O. 653 (E), dated the 29th March, 2012;
And whereas, the said Tribunal was required to forward to the Central Government a further report under subsection(3) of section 5 of the said Act on or before the 30th September, 2012;
And whereas, on the request of the said Tribunal the period of submission of further report under the proviso to subsection (3) of section 5 of the said Act was extended up to the 31st March, 2013 vide notification number S.O. 2339(E), dated the 28th September, 2012;
And whereas, the said Tribunal was required to forward to the Central Government a further report under subsection(3) of section 5 of the said Act on or before the 31st March, 2013;
And whereas, the said Tribunal has again requested to extend the period of submission of further report under the proviso to sub-section (3) of section 5 of the said Act up to the 30th September, 2013;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (3) of section 5 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby extends the period of submission of further report by the said Tribunal for a further period up to the 30th September, 2013.
