(1) The Laccadive, Minicoy and Amindivi Islands Cooperative Societies Regulation, 1960 (hereafter in this section referred to as the said Regulation) is hereby repealed:
Provided that such repeal shall not affect—
(i) the previous operation of the said Regulation so repealed, or anything duly done or suffered thereunder;
(ii) any right, privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under the said Regulation so repealed;
(iii) any penalty, forfeiture or punishment incurred in respect of any offence committed against the said Regulation so repealed; or
(iv) any investigation, proceedings, legal proceedings or remedy in respect of any such right, privilege, obligation, liability, penalty, forfeiture or punishment as aforesaid, and any such investigation, proceedings, legal proceedings or remedy may be instituted, continued or enforced and any such penalty, forfeiture or punishment may be imposed, as if this Regulation had not been promulgated.
(2) The mention of particular matters referred to in sub-section (1) shall not be held to prejudice or affect the general application of section 6 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 with regard to the effect of repeal.
